The
1066 Sporting Club kicked off in March 2002 when World Cup
Winner George Cohen MBE was Guest Speaker at the 1st Hastings Sporting
Dinner held at Horntye Park, Hastings. Since then Style has organized
a string of events under the 1066 Sporting Club banner including
1066 Sporting Club Cricket Challenge, 1066 Country Darts Tournament,
1066 Sporting Club Football Challenge, 1066 Sporting Club It's a
Knockout Challenge, Wrestling on Hastings Pier, 1066 Sporting Club
Golf Day and Sporting Dinners in Ashford, Eastbourne, Rye and Hastings.
Guest Speakers have including, Jimmy Greaves, Jack Charlton OBE,
Peter Osgood, Phil 'The Cat' Tufnell, Gareth Chilcott, Sir Geoff
Hurst MBE, Alan Ball MBE, Martin Peters MBE, Ron 'Chopper' Harris
and Gordon Banks OBE. Money raised at these events goes towards
sponsorship of young Sporting Talent, Clubs and Charities based
in the local area.
